2005 SURVEY We conducted a comprehensive survey our congregation in 2005. These are the main overarching themes of the responses
1 - Worship - more spontaneous and informal, less "programmed performance", more spirit filled, more lay participation, more testimonies, more Biblical and less topical; more joyful sermons, joyful praise, Biblical guidance for daily practical living.
2 - Outreach - reaching out to the poor and distressed in the community as well as in the church; more caring, more Sam's Club type activities, Three Trees involvement, recovery ministries.
3 - More equipping in evangelism - equipping us to bring the Good News to our friends and neighbors.
4 - Vitality - a rediscovery of a sense of hopefulness, joy, energy in service, sense of purpose and mission.
5 - Embracing - enfolding, friendly, a feeling of belonging, small groups, connectedness, community.
6 - Council Communication - more open and communicative, closer communication with members.
7 - Reinforce our strengths - continue to support key strengths like our children's program and our youth program, quality sermons, women's ministry, dream groups, and many other healthy activities.
8 - Staff realignment - consolidate Worship director with other functions, possibly get an Associate Pastor.
9 - Young Adults and Young Families - bolster our work to support this large segment of our congregation.
10 - Visiting - increase personal spiritual contact between council and members; family visits; spiritual accountability.
